Having worked as an employee for diverse non-profits over the past 20 years - from Habitat for Humanity and Big Brothers Big Sisters to the NYCLU, the Red Cross, and the West Point Association of Graduates at USMA - I have an intimate understanding of what it takes for organizations to overcome challenges, keep the doors open on a daily basis, and effectively help our neighbors in need. Now more than ever, non-profits are tasked to "do more with less." It's an unwinnable formula, and it leads to burn out of staff and resources at every level.
That's why I began Marci Gurton Consulting in 2021. My passion is to ease the burden non-profits face in raising and securing funding for their important work; to help those who feel they are spinning their wheels start gaining traction for their mission. Drawing on expertise as a fundraising and communications professional, and a Grant Professional Certification (GPC) earned in 2022, I use powerful development tools and time-tested strategies that reduce clients' stress - and put the "fun" into fundraising (just kidding, we don't have magic beans!). But this approach produces results that speak for themselves.
Together with clients and employer teams, we've raised over $56.5M to date for meaningful social programming, with a specific focus on women's empowerment, racial equity, youth intervention, and veterans care.
